Dubai – The most important business destination
Dubai has been named the financial centre in the world most likely to ‘become significant more important over the next two or three years’ by the new Chatham House study. Welcome news for any city. Just as important, Dubai is ranked as the number one destination where businesses are thinking of opening offices within the next three years. Dubai has also received high ranking in the City of London’s Global Financial Centres index in March, ranking 24th ahead of Stockholm, Shanghai, Brussels, Mumbai and Madrid; outside Europe and North America, Dubai was ranked fifth in the world in the survey. With Dubai having a regional financial centre there will be huge demand for commercial property. Finding the right property for your business is the first step to starting up in the region and with Dubai as the home of the most prestigious companies in the world, creating the right image in your office is of huge importance. You will want to portray a successful and strong company. There are many things that need to be considered when creating your interior office space. Finding the right interior designer that understands your needs as a business has experience in creating and working with similar clients is of prime importance. A good interior designer can make effective use of space, consider lighting furniture style and comfort private offices versus open plan offices, incorporate the latest technology and trends and most importantly how the space needs to be used to meet the objectives and goals of the business. Issues than need to be addressed when designing your office layout in Dubai In the Middle East, design considerations can be cultural as well as environmental. Prayer Rooms Prayer rooms are an important design consideration, enabling employees to practice their faith whilst at work. This room would be best suited to a quiet part of the office, with a simple design and no musical interference in keeping with local customs. Modesty Panels Modesty Panels are basically a thin piece of wood or metal attached to the front of the desk, which acts to shield the legs from view. These are common fixtures in offices around the world but are more likely to be found in Middle East office design. Heat and Light As the Middle East is very humid, bright sunlight and dusty internal lighting and temperature must be taken into consideration, air conditioning should be installed, window coverings necessary for shade and how the outside of office is accessed. Finally, corporate design is no different to a home office and can be tweaked and altered to meet cultural provisions. Proper planning is necessary before carrying out work to avoid major costly redesigns in the future. Finding the right interior designer who takes into account cultural differences and business needs can create the right office space to meet your needs and give a great impression to your clients. |
